What Can I Make With Watermelon
I went grocery shopping today and found a great buy one get two free deal on watermelons. I couldn’t resist and now have 3 large watermelons sitting on my kitchen counter. We started to eat the first one, and got through about half of it. Now I’m wondering what I’m supposed to do with the rest. Since they hold so much water, I’m sure freezing and then thawing them later on is out of the question. What else could I make with these yummy fruits? Does anyone have a recipe for a watermelon drink? (I think I’ve heard of a water melon cooler or lemonade before). I appreciate any tips or recipes you may have that use watermelon.

If you get a really good juicy watermelon, try making a “Punch” with it. Here’s the trick though. If you buy a seedless watermelon it’s really easy to blend but doesn’t have as much flavor as one with seeds. You decide whether or not you want to take the time to remove the seeds. Once you have nice clean chunks of watermelon, throw them in a food processor or blender and give it a whirl. There will be a lot of juice and some pulp left (which you can strain off if you like). Then, take any punch recipe you like. I like to use a can of frozen lemonade, some ice, and some Sprite or 7-Up. You can add your favorite spirits if you wish. Be careful not to add any juice that is too strong (like cranberry). It will hide the watermelon flavor.

A simple cooler that I like is…
Seed and cut into cubes enough ripe watermelon to fill your blender.
Squeeze the juice of 1 or 2 lemons over the watermelon.
Add a little salt.
Blend until pureed. Nice and smooth.
Pour over ice in cold glass.
That should make enough for a couple glasses.

I like to blend watermelon with crushed ice, pineapple juice and ginger ale. All in the blender and serve. I have served this at my workshops that I present with Inspired Honey, and delegates love it. For events in the summertime of course. Everyone associates watermelon with hot weather…

I love to blend watermelon with pineapple juice and ice… it is SO DELICIOUS!! It’s good to make a big batch of it and leave it in the fridge… I’m lazy though I don’t even take out the seeds!!
Just keep the watermelon in the fridge!! Such a nice little treat!

The only thing which we do with watermelon is, we can eat it or can use it for juices. I think we already have a lot of juice recipes on board and there is nothing else than that.

Good idea is to put vodka into watermelon. I remember my college years when we used to drink like that.

I think watermelon is just wonderful by itself — but during the summer seasons — I like to use it to make a fresh fruit salad. I mix all my favorites together, stick it in the refrigerator for a little while, then snack away!
