I understand, this is what my Grandma did for us as kids, I think its the purest use of the real thing, freeze water in flat shallow pans then tomorrow heat syrup till simmering or so & dollop some onto the ice swirl with a fork till you have candy on the end & savour the great flavour, it’s the “no snow version” of sugar on snow. She used this as a cure for a sore throat, a keep the kids busy on a rainy day etc.. LOL

Ever try maple candy? It’s really sweet, but delicious if you have a sweet tooth. I believe you can make it using just maple syrup too, so it’s a pretty simple recipe. Try it out!

its delicious to make recipe with maple syrup, but “Maple syrup” must be made entirely from maple sap (small amounts of substances such as salt may be added) “Maple-flavored” syrups contain maple, but also other (cheaper) ingredients. “Pancake syrup”, “waffle syrup”, “table syrup”, and similarly-named syrups are imitations, which are less expensive than real maple syrup.

These are great maple syrup suggestions. Here’s another:
Make a spinach salad, with blue cheese, toasted walnuts and raisins or some other little fruit.
Get the maple syrup HOT and drizzle it on the salad right before serving.
The spinach wilts, and the salad is SOOOOO good. People will think you slaved away all day to make it!
