What Can I Make With Leftover Spaghetti?

Filed under: Main, Pasta & Rice — Susanne @ 9:54 am

For some reason I always cook quite a bit more spaghetti than we end up eating in one meal. If I have sauce leftover too, I usually just store the two together and reheat them the next day for lunch.

But there are quite a few times when I have pasta leftover, but no sauce - usually that’s on a day when I don’t have a jar of tomato sauce in the pantry either.

Any ideas on what else to do with leftover cooked spaghetti? I’m sure there are quite a few delicious things I could be doing with this…

I like to use them in a fritata. You can leave them long or cut them up a bit, then put them into a greased pie dish along with some leftover cooked veggies and/ or some cooked chicken or ham.

Scramble 4 or 5 eggs, season them with salt and pepper and pour them over the noodles and veggie mixture and bake everything at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes or until the eggs are done.

I usually sprinkle some grated cheese on the fritata about 10 minutes before it’s done to give the cheese a chance to melt and brown.

I like to turn our leftover spaghetti into chow mein noddles.

Saute some veggies like cabbage, snow peas and thinly sliced carrots and onion in a wok or large pan. Add some cooked chicken or scramble a few eggs and add them. Toss in the noodles and cook until they are heated through. Add some soy sauce and serve.

I guess I am pretty boring. I just make up some more sauce and have spaghetti again. I’ll usually take it to work for my lunch.

I use leftover spaghetti to make either a quick macaroni salad or macaroni and cheese.

Chop it up a bit first, then make it according to your favorite recipe.

    Baked spaghetti
I would put it in a baking dish. Add cheddar cheese and some kind of meat on top. Pepperoni is great.

Once I had a lot of spaghetti left and decided to
recycle it. I rinsed off all the tomatoe sauce, off the pasta and the meatballs. Then I added Alfredo sauce. You do what you got to do. I still do.
