    Strawberry Popsicles!

Why, just this morning I diced up a few strawberries and place them in the popsicle cups I bought for a cool summertime treat. Then, I poured (100%) fruit juice into the cups & placed the popsicle sticks, and finally set them carefully in the freezer. (It is best to do this at night so the popsicles have time to freeze without being disturbed AND so you don’t have to hear “Are they done, yet?” 27 times during the day.)

The popsicle cups can be found almost anywhere. (I found mine at Target.) You may use any fruit you like, make the pieces as large or small as you like, use as many or few as you like, use any flavor fruit juice you like. You can really customize this treat to suit the picky tastes of your little ones. (Or, yourself!) It adds a healthy little twist to ordinary popsicles!

    ENJOY!

Hi! I was thinking about some Strawberry Flambe.

Great for a hot summer day because it’s spooned over ice cream.

For a recipe that serves 2:

    4 teaspoons brown sugar
    2 teaspoons butter
    1 cup halved strawberries
    3 tablespoons brandy
    2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 scoops of vanilla ice cream in pretty serving dishes
    2 tablespoons whipped cream
    2 tablespoons almond slivers
    2 shortbread cookies

Heat the sugar and butter in a large pan for about 5 minutes, or until sugar dissolves. Stir continuously.

Add the strawberries and cook for just 1 or 2 minutes. Remove pan from the heat and add brandy. Place pan back on heat; the strawberries should flambé, or cook until all the alcohol is gone.

Turn off the heat. Add the lemon juice. Spoon the strawberries and sauce over the ice cream. Top with whipped cream, almonds, and a shortbread cookie.

    Bon appetit!!!

There’s always yummy, yummy Strawberry Shortcake.

Make it easy on yourself, buy the cake cups at the grocery, cut up some strawberries (and let the juice drain out a bit – yummy!) and don’t forget the whip cream.

Put out a cake, top with strawberries and some juice, put on whipped cream – and enjoy!

One of my favorite ways to use strawberries is to add them to a bowl of ice cream with a dollop of whipped cream; on any cereal; or (now don’t laugh!)just add

Another idea would be to eat them plain but instead of just strawberries take a little sour cream(no I meant to say sour cream) and a little brown sugar. Dip the strawberries in sour cream and then dip them in the sugar and take a bite. It sounds strange but it is really good!
