What Can I Make With Feta Cheese?

Filed under: Dairy — Susanne @ 2:14 pm

I’m a big fan of feta cheese. It’s so flavorful that I can eat a small amount and get a lot of flavor out of it (as opposed to the two lb block of mozarella I have to eat on my pizza to taste it). ;)

So, creative and frugal moms…. lay your best recipes and ideas on me. What can I make with feta cheese?

A great appetizer is bruchetta with feta. Mix up roasted red peppers, feta, some olive oil, a little (or lot) of garlic and some green onion. Then bruch slices of french bread, brush them with olive oil and broil them until toasted. Top with the feta/pepper mixture. Yummy!

Toast a pita pocket, add some cucumber slices, lettuce, tomato and leftover grilled chicken. Top everything with a little feta cheese for a yummy lunch sandwich.

    Make some greek pizza!

Start with a pita bread, top it with a little tomato sauce, your favorite veggies and herbs and top it all off with some feta cheese. Bake it until the cheese is melted.

    Yummmmmmm

Summer Avocado Pasta (contains Feta Cheese)
Nice light pasta dish filled with great flavors and textures for a hot summer day! I hope you enjoy this one as much as I have! Very Easy to Make too.

1 Package of a flavored pasta (We used Trader Joes Spinach & Chive Linguine Pasta)

    1 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

1 14.5 oz. can of S&W Ready–Cut Tomatoes diced with roasted garlic

    1-2 Diced Avocados

1 4 oz. Package Crumbled Traditional Feta Cheese

Cook pasta according to directions. When the pasta is done, drain and put it back in the pot. Add the chopped tomatoes and balsamic vinegar and heat. Plate the pasta and add the avocados and feta cheese on top. If you desire, you can add some parmesan cheese on top as well.
