ANYTHING lol! My Mom believes in cream of mushroom soup so much that she often gives it, along with paint brushes, as a wedding gift. LOL

I even marinade chicken in cream of mushroom soup. I don’t dilute it. I just put the soup in a baggie, stick the chicken pieces in and leave overnight.

Green bean casserole is definitely one of my favorites! I also do chicken and rice (I’ll have to find that recipe — hmm…)
When I was a kid, I’d eat it straight out of the can. Seems a bit gross to me now, but I loved Cream of Mushroom soup!

I love cream of mushroom soup! I love to eat it by itself and I love cooking with it. One of my favorite recipes using cream of mushroom soup is my Roasted Roast recipe. You take a roast put it in a large roasting pan, cover it with 1 envelope of lipton onion soup mix , salt, pepper, onion salt, garlic salt, 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 can of cream of chicken soup, some extra water, some frozen veggies cover with foil and bake for about 3 hours at 425.
It comes out nice and tender, all brown and delicious!
The cream of mushroom soup just makes it spectacular!
yummmmmmmm.

Isnt there a book someplace called 10,000 things to do with cream of mushroom soup? If not there should be! Its a great base for literally thousands of dishes. I use it to thicken the broth when I make chicken and dumplings. Its makes for a creamier, hearty soup that holds up better to the dumplings. Chicken and rice casserole, broccoli rice casserole, tuna casserole and what my dad called kitchen sink stew all come to mind. The kitchen sink stew was a packet of onion soup mix, a lb of browned ground beef, a can of green beans, a can of corn, a can of peas(all un drained) and then he would delute 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup with 3 cans of water and simmer on the stove until we kids were sure we were going to starve to death…lol.

I make a very simple hamburger stroganoff with a can of mushroom soup, one pack age of noodles (any type), a pound of ground beef, one medium onion, 1/2 cup sour cream and a 1/4 cup real mushrooms (if you choose). Yummy and quick.

The first meal I made when I moved out on my own was to braise chicken livers in garlic and oil, then cover with COMS, 3/4 can of water, bake til done, serve over rice
Tonight I did basically the same thing with boneless chicken breast. When the chicken was done I reduced the liquid until it was thisk and added a few tsp of margarine. It was rich and very good.
Tater Tots casserole (2lb gb browned, 1c COMS 1 can CO Celery S, 8oz velveta, mix it together top with tater tots and bake for an hour. So good it should be illegal.
Tuna casserole is great too.
really there are hundreds of great things

I make a hashbrown casserole with cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup, whichever I have in my pantry. My family goes crazy for this casserole.
1 pkg (32oz) frozen hashbrowns
½ c. melted butter or margarine
16 oz sour cream
1 can cream of mushroom soup ( can also use cream of chicken)
½ c. milk
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
2-3 chopped green onions
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 c. of crushed corn flakes (optional)
The melted butter goes at the bottom of a 9×13 pan. In a large bowl combine sour cream, soup, milk, salt, pepper and green onions. Put half of the frozen hashbrowns on top of the melted butter. Next layer half of the sour cream/soup mixture on top of the hashbrowns. Then put half of the shredded cheese on as the next layer. Repeat layers – hashbrowns, then mixture, then cheese. Add crushed corn flakes on top, if desired.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 ½ hours.

Slice up some potatoes and layer them into a buttered casserole dish. Dilute the condensed cream of mushroom soup with a little milk and add some finely diced onion and / or green peppers and pour the mixture over the potatoes. Bake at 350 until the potatoes are done (depends on how thick you’re slicing them). Or if you have leftover boiled potatoes just bake it long enough to heat through. Very yummy!!!!

My favorite is what my family and I call Turkey Stew. Brown 1lb of ground turkey and make sure to salt and pepper just a little. Once it is brown add 1 can of reduced fat cream of mushroom soup, 4 cups of water and about 1 and 2/3 cups of brown wild rice. Let this mixture boil until liquid is reduced and the rice is done. If you need to add more water to finish cooking your rice it is okay. We love this recipe with crusty bread and a salad!
