What Can I Make with Celery?

Filed under: Fresh Vegetables — Susanne @ 9:56 am

Summer time gives me certain cravings. Tomatoes, basil, rhubarb, and celery. (Not all in one dish.) ;)

I currently have a bunch of celery in my refrigerator and am trying to think of something to do with it.

I’m leaning towards tuna salad (tuna, mayonnaise, and chopped celery on wheat bread) — maybe with a little soy sauce added.

What do you like to make with Celery? Please share your favorite recipes and ideas and help me use this celery.

My kids love celery with peanut butter inside, with or without raisins.

You can add celery to a fruit salad for a nice tang.
For instance, cut up banana, avocado, celery and oranges, and mix. Eat. :)

Celery is also great in potato soup.

I love the ideas above but I also like celery inside vegetable soup or you can also put it with onions and other vegetables in an egg omlet.

Celery with ranch dip is great. I also love it with cream cheese.

    Celery… so many uses!

Saute some onion and a whole load of celery in some butter. Add in some vegetable soup and cook until the celery is tender. Puree. Voila! Instant “cream” of celery soup (without the cream, so its good for vegans or those watching calories)

You can also add it to omelettes, stir frys, bean salads, egg salad, etc. Also perfect as a snack stuffed with a bit of cream cheese, PB, cottage cheese, cheese whiz or salsa.

We make a cold rice salad. We cook rice pilaf and put it in the fridge overnight. Next day add one can of white tuna fish, cut up celery, cut up green onions and cut up radishes. Pour in a packet of onion soup mix and then mix in mayonaise. My kids love this for lunch!!

Here is a delicious and healthy drink: Take a stalk of celery, two carrots, one apple. Chop all and place in blender. Try it, I guarantee you’ll love it!

You can always add celery to your Bloody Mary! LOL

We love celery with our boneless wings – perfect side dish.

Celery is also yummy chopped up with chicken and mayonnaise for an easy chicken salad.

[...] I asked her where her sudden interest for celery was coming from and it turns out it’s because of the wonderpets tv show. Turns out those little guys eat celery to celebrate the end of every episode. Now I’ll just have to come up with some celery recipes that will appeal to my little girl so we can keep this interest in the vegetable alive. I think we’ll start with celery and plenty of peanut butter.   [...]
