What Can I Make With Cantaloupe
My local grocery store had a sale on Cantaloupe this week and I just couldn’t resist. The sweet smell of these delicious melons …. Anyway, I ended up buying three of them. I cut up the first one right away and we enjoyed it with some fresh pineapple chunks and some grapes as a fruit salad. The question is… what do I do with the other two?
We like to eat them just peeled, seeded and cut into chunks with some toast for breakfast, but I’m sure there are plenty of other things you can do with these melons. What are your favorite cantaloupe recipes?

I love doing it as a melon juice. I will cut into halves then extract the juice from its seeds then scrape the fruit, add some ice, sugar and an evaporated milk…mmmm…yummy!

My grandfather used to slice one open and fill it with vanilla ice cream. Then he’s pour Seven-up in inside. One of my fondest childhood memories.

I made a cantaloupe salsa one time. I know it might sound kind of odd but it’s delicious over grilled fish and especially with pork.
2 Cups cantaloupe diced
4 Poblano peppers
Handful of Cilantro
Juice of 1/2 lime
zest of 1 Lime
2-3 Tablespoons of honey depending on taste
1. Roast the poblano peppers. You can do this over an open gas flame on your stove by placing them directly on the burner and turning them with tongs as the skin blackens. Just be very attentive and don’t leave them unattended.
2. As soon as the skin of the pepper is charred all around, put them into a plastic ziplock bag and leave them for 5 mins. This will losen the skin. Take the peppers out of the bag and use a paper towel to remove some of the char.
3. Dice the peppers, removing the stem and seeds from inside, and then combine the diced pepper and the diced cantalope in a mixing bowl.
4. Wash and finely chop the cilantro and add it to the bowl.
5. Add the lime zest, juice, and honey to thw bowl and mix it all together.
Depending on your personal taste, you can add salt for another layer of flavor, or more honey if you’d like to sweeter.

Actually grocery store and supermarket may differ a little in the amount of products they offer.
