What Can I Make with Fresh Mint Leaves?

I was craving a Mojito the other day and thought how much fun it would be to grow mint leaves so I could make one for guests. Of course, my husband says “What else can you make with mint?” and I said “… uhhh….”

So, here I am again. ;) Other than Mojitos what can I make with fresh mint leaves? Do you have a recipes or idea for us?

Oh, and here’s one recipe for Mojitos in case you were curious…

1 part rum
3 parts club soda
12 fresh mint leaves
1/2 fresh lime (not one of those plastic ones)
sugar

Place the mint leaves, lime, and sugar in a glass. Crush them with a pestle.

Add rum, and top off with the club soda. Stir well.

You can garnish this drink with a mint sprig and lime wedge.

Optional: Try different kinds of rum. Lemon, Orange, Melon, Raspberry, Apple, ect.

What Can I Make With Green Tea?

Filed under: Drinks — Susanne @ 10:00 am

I know Green Tea is good for you. I’ve read about the Benefits of Green Tea and even the Green Tea Diet.

But, honestly — BLECK. I KNOW it’s good for me, but it tastes NASTY. (Yes, I sound like my 4 year old right now, when she has to eat her vegetables. lol)

So, are there are tricks to brewing green tea? Any ways to make it less bitter? I’d love to reap the rewards of this amazing drink, but I need some help to get the green tea into my system without too much suffering.

Can I bake with it? Are there drink recipes that make green tea taste good? I’d love to hear it.

What Can I Make with Celery?

Filed under: Fresh Vegetables — Susanne @ 9:56 am

Summer time gives me certain cravings. Tomatoes, basil, rhubarb, and celery. (Not all in one dish.) ;)

I currently have a bunch of celery in my refrigerator and am trying to think of something to do with it.

I’m leaning towards tuna salad (tuna, mayonnaise, and chopped celery on wheat bread) — maybe with a little soy sauce added.

What do you like to make with Celery? Please share your favorite recipes and ideas and help me use this celery.
