What Can I Make with Bisquick?

Filed under: Breads, Prepared Foods — Susanne @ 9:47 am

I hear Bisquick is super-handy and can be used to make everything from pizza dough to pancakes and many baked goods in between.

I’ve only used Bisquick for one thing — and that is making those “dough-boys” in Girl Scout Camp. Remember those? You mix the water with Bisquick and then wrap the dough around a large whittled stick. Cook the end of your stick (including your dough-boy) over a campfire until it’s golden-brown (although they normally look more like a blacked dough-boy than a golden-brown one). Slide it off and add butter and jam. YUM!

I’m sure there are plenty more recipes for using Bisquick than my old campfire ones. ;) So, please share your Bisquick recipes, ideas, and experiences here. Thanks much!

What Can I Make with Leftover Oatmeal?

Filed under: Breakfast Foods — Susanne @ 7:41 am

I posted awhile back about regular oatmeal, but I’ve had a special request to post about leftover oatmeal. You know — that gooey stuff remaining in the bowls when the kids have decided they’ve had enough.

I just hate to throw out food, but I don’t know what to do with it. So, creative moms, do you have any recipes or ideas to use leftover oatmeal? I’m listening. :)

Do you have any good cocktail recipes using Smirnoff’s Vanilla Vodka? If so, please share.

What Can I Make With Feta Cheese?

Filed under: Dairy — Susanne @ 2:14 pm

I’m a big fan of feta cheese. It’s so flavorful that I can eat a small amount and get a lot of flavor out of it (as opposed to the two lb block of mozarella I have to eat on my pizza to taste it). ;)

So, creative and frugal moms…. lay your best recipes and ideas on me. What can I make with feta cheese?

What Can I Make With Rice Krispies Cereal?

Filed under: Cereals, Prepared Foods — Susanne @ 4:05 pm

My friend was just telling me that she makes her French toast with Rice Krispies. She said it’s just heavenly.

Here’s what she does -

She dips the bread into the regular egg & milk mixture, then dips it into crushed rice krispies.

Then, she fries the bread like normal French toast. I’ve got to try this. Sounds great!

So, what do you make with Rice Krispies Cereal?
